Hola mis amigos! Christmas has officially started in casa de Kray
and the very large number of cards has begun.
One small point before I start is that I've finally replaced my stamping
platform. I am completely baffled as to where it can be but I couldn't
get anything done without one and so Tonic came to my rescue. That
said, I'd love to share with you my very first Christmas card design for
2018! Now, I'll have variations to this as the stamp set is sooooo adorable!
Sending Christmas cards can be a challenge for me as most of my
cards aren't flat but I was determined to keep things simple this year. And
what better stamp set to use than Avery Elle, 'A Merry Little Christmas' Stamp Set
and coordinating die set!
I started out with some Solar White Neenah cardstock and Salty Ocean
Distress Oxide to make a very subtle winter background.
After spraying a little water and dabbing off with a paper towel I stamped
my sentiment first so as to build my scene around it.
Then I stamped some if these super cute images onto watercolour
cardstock and coloured with watercolour pencils by Tonic Studios.
Once dry I used my gel pen to make a few white highlights.
I die cut out some stitched layered dies, 5 inch by 7 inch and cut the
stamped card 4 inches by 6 inches. Once adhered I added Mustard
Yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops to the baubles and some glitter pen to the
pajamas that the mice are wearing.
Although this is quite a simple card I adore it and think it's perfect for
something sweet for my friends and family this year.
I just love that Salty Ocean Distress Oxide for a hint of colour. What do
you think? Have you started your Christmas cards yet - let me know or
sent me a link to your blog so I can follow you as I love having crafty
friends.
Until next week....
Lots of love
Jen xx
