Here's a cute little card I made for a friend who's son and his girlfriend have just found out their expecting a little girl.
I used Avery Elle Woodland Wonders with a sentiment from Special Delivery and the Scalloped pierced rectangles dies and the new It's a girl die from Lawn Fawn. I also used the new distress oxides from Tim Holtz with Ranger.
I stamped the tree, rabbit and bird in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and created a mask for the animals from post it notes.
I wanted to try out the new distress oxides to see how they compared to normal distress ink and oh my word they blend and move so much easier, they kind of glide over the paper. For this card I used Broken China and Cracked Pistachio, I love how it gives a softer almost chalky look.
I coloured in the images with Copic markers, and stamped the Congratulations from the special Delivery stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black.
I die cut a scalloped pierced rectangle and coloured it pink with markers to frame the card and added it with foam tape for dimension.
I cut the It's a Girl die from Lawn Fawn and coloured it pink with the same marker so everything would match. I also covered it in a layer of glossy accents and fixed to the card with a drop of Multi Medium Matte. To get a finer flow for both the glossy accents and the multi medium matte, I added the fine tip applicator to the bottle, this gave me much more precision.
To finish the card I added glossy accents to some small pink hearts and placed them through out the empty space.
If i'm honest, I wish i'd coloured the bird a different colour as I feel it blends in with the tree and the background, but I love the rest of it.
