Layered Dahlia stencils with Distress Oxides

Hello, I don't use stencils a lot but I couldn't wait to try out the new Layered Dahlia stencils from Altenew. They are sold separately and can be used separately but together the work amazing.

I also wanted to try out my favourite colour of Distress Ink in an Oxide Picked Raspberry, I just love pink, and see how it looked on different coloured cardstock.

I did exactly the same thing on all 3 cards, but they look so different.

I cut a piece of card stock in white, black and kraft to 10cm x 15cm, although I did end up cutting them down as stencils never seem to quite cover the whole piece.

I took the Layered Dahlia A Stencil  and taped my first piece of card to the back of the stencil with masking tape then taped the stencil to my worktop. I used Warn Lipstick Distress Oxide with a mini ink blending tool to cover the stencil. I then taped the Layer Dahlia B Stencil in the same way and used Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide over this stencil.

I die cut the Happy from the Happy Card Frames die from Concord & 9th from silver glitter card with Stick It adhesive on the back and adhered it the the from of the card. I stamped "birthday" from Concord & 9th's Happy Word stamp set in Versamark ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder and trimmed this down to a small strip with an angled edge. I added this the the card with foam tape. I trimmed the whole thing down to around 14cm x 9cm and added to a white card blank.

Here's the close ups of the 3 different card colours, it's amazing how they look so different.

Hope you like them, I think my favourite is the kraft coloured ones.

Katrina x
