Hello, today I have 2 cards for you using only 1 die from Concord & 9th.
All Stocked products will be listed at the end of the post.
I started by making a piece of patterned paper using Distress Inks. If you've been following by blog you may remember me mentioning this in my last post as I managed to get the ink an another card oops. So I would suggest before doing this technique clear your work space lol!
I took a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock cut to 15cm x 10 cm approx and placed it on my work surface. I then took my mini distress inks in various colours (I can't remember exactly which colours I used as I used quite a few) and smooched them straight onto my table top (You might want to use a craft mat here to save any stains on your work top.) I then sprayed a few spays of water from my mini mister on to the ink to water it down. I took a paint brush, just a normal everyday artist type brush you could even use a kids one if that's all you have. I dipped it in the watered down distress ink and splattered it on to the card with a flicking motion. I did this with various colours until I was happy with the look and left it to dry.
You could use any patterned card or even just a plain colour to make this card. I just wanted to do something a little different.
Once the card was dry, I used the Concord & 9th Say Hello die to cut out a big hello in the middle of the card. The beauty of this die is not only does it cut out the main hello word it also cuts out an outline of the word. I removed the outline and put it to one side to use on the other card. I trimmed down the coloured piece to 14.5cm x 9.5cm and matted it onto a piece of black card. I took the main Hello word and glued it in to the space left in the middle which because I'd removed the outline left a black border around the word. I carefully inserted the middle of the letters using multi medium matte adhesive. I used Versafine Onyx Black to stamp the word Sunshine underneath the hello to finish the card.
For the second card I used the hello outline and glued it to a black piece of card measuring 14.5cm x 9.5cm approx using Multi Medium Matte adhesive. In hindsight I would of used Stick It double sided adhesive when die cutting it as it would of made it slightly easier. I used versamark to stamp the word Friend under the hello and used Wow! White embossing powder to heat emboss it. I matted both cards to white A6 side folding card bases.
Love this, reminds me of confetti, I haven’t used my DI’s like this but I will be now! Thanks
