Hi there! It’s Kittenmoose today on the blog and I’m sharing some thoughts on using your materials plus a gorgeous card using the Statement Flowers set from Altenew.
I don’t know about you but I get exhausted with all the new launches from companies! We all get caught up in the frenzy of new stamps, dies, inks, stencils, and tools but how much do we actually use?! I went through a period of buying so much it turned into a collection rather than raw materials I used to craft to. Or I’d use a set once then move on to the next gotta have launch before really enjoying what I already have.
what I do now is make sure I absolutely love the materials I buy and that I’ll make multiple projects from them. It does feel like I’m missing out on all the fun sometimes but then I remember the people continuously sharing are content creators and makers and it’s their job to tempt us all haha.
saying that, I absolutely love all the crafty inspiration shared on social media. Unfortunately the statement flowers set I’m using today is sold out but I’d like to encourage you to get your older sets out again and create something wonderful.
I’ve colored in the Altenew Statement Flowers Stamp Set with Chromatek Brush Markers onto watercolor card. This is the first time I’ve sat and thought about light source and shadows so although I made a ton of mistakes it’s a solid effort and I can build on what I’ve learned.
Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you like my card and also think about using the supplies you have. Have a great week and happy crafting!
lots of love,
kittenmoose xx
It’s a beautiful card. I have this set and it’s never been used. I’m afraid I’ve fallen into that same old trap that you’ve managed to get yourself out of. I too have become a collector. I spend more time buying than I have time to make cards. I must try and do as you have done and select only the products I feel I must have. There are just too many releases from some companies, as often as every fortnight I believe.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful design and for your very wise advice which I’ll endeavour to get to grips with❤️
