Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. When you want to create an effect where the lanterns are glowing, then ink blending onto coloured cardstock to create a halo effect. The Lantern Festival stamp & die set is the perfect stamp set to create a halo effect with ink blending but you can use this technique with a whole host of stamp and dies, so get creative!
Written and photos Halo effect with ink blending:
Ink blend Dress Blue ink onto Mustard Hero Hues cardstock, leaving some of the yellow still visible offset to one corner. Make sure you apply enough ink around the end to darker the cardstock to show a blue colour and not a green overlay.
Use metallic paints to add white and gold splatter to mimic stars in the sky. For the lanterns, stamp 3 lanterns from the Lantern Festival stamp set in Do-si-do, Bellini and Coral Cobana and use the coordinating dies to cut them out.
In addition, heat emboss some of the hangers from the set in Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder. Trim the card panel down and add to a white cardbase. Foam mount the lanterns onto the card with varying depths of dimension and overlap of a pretty design.
Stamp a sentiment from the stamp set and add this to the front. Lastly, embellish with sequins from the Kyto Sequin mix.
