Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. You may wonder what to do with alphabet dies? You may love the font and size but unsure when to use them. Well today I'm showing you how a simple popping background is the perfect base to add your alphabet die-cut sentiment on top for an eye catching card design.
Written and photos Simple birthday card with a popping background:
For this, create a colourful inky background. Here I used a variety of alcohol inks with Yupo paper (measures 5"x7) but you can create any size card. Bumbleberry has a selection of Altenew Alcohol Reinker colours you can use to create a similar background.
Before you alcohol ink background sets, you can place foil over the sticky areas to get veins of metal in your background. Foam mount this panel onto a card base measuring at 5.5" x 7.5.
For the sentiment, die-cut Happy Birthday using the Heather Upper alphabet and Heather Lower alphabet in white card 3 times. Layer these up with liquid adhesive and adhere over the card front.
In addition, die-cut the sentiment one more time out a rose fold cardstock and adhere the outline around the edge to define the sentiment. Lastly, embellish with sequins from the Portland Sequin mix.
