Watercolour background with reinkers!

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. One way to create a background quickly is to make a watercolour background. If you don't have watercolours, then you can fake it by using your reinkers. Watercolour background with reinkers is perfect for heat embossing on, and as I still love the Catherine Pooler Boho Fall release, I created another autumn thank you card.

Start off by wetting a piece of watercolour cardstock with clean water. Add a few drops of re-inker to an acrylic block - these work great as makeshift palettes. For this panel I used the following colours:

Clay Mask
Merlot
Serene
Sparkling Berry

Drop each of the various colours of inks into the clean water, allowing the water to help blend and move the colours. Once complete, leave to one side to dry. After it has dried, heat emboss the Light as A feather background stamp in In the Navy embossing powder.

Trim the panel down and add to a white cardbase. Next, stamp a leave from the Painted leaves stamp set in Clay Mask ink. Ink up half of the stamp once more with Merlot ink. Using a blending brush soften the harsh ink line on the stamp.

Next, stamp the colour down and use the coordination die to die-cut the leaf out. Foam mount the leave onto the front of the card and add a stamped sentiment from the Painted Leaves stamp set on top.

Lastly finish with a few clear bubble embellishments to finish the card.
